Lithuania is a unitary semi-presidential representative democratic republic in Northern Europe. The President of Lithuania serves as head of state while the Prime Minister heads the government, and the unicameral Seimas holds legislative power. Lithuania is governed under the constitution approved on 25 October 1992.
