Thailand is a constitutional monarchy in Southeast Asia, its capital Bangkok. A hereditary monarch serves as head of state while an elected Prime Minister heads the government, and legislative power rests with the bicameral National Assembly of Thailand, comprising the House of Representatives and the Senate. The kingdom is governed under the 2017 Constitution of Thailand, adopted following the 2014 military coup.
