The Burhan Transitional Sovereignty Council is Sudan's military-led governing council under Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Sudan's real executive authority; the council was originally formed on 21 August 2019 but was dissolved in al-Burhan's October 2021 coup and reconstituted with him as chairman on 11 November 2021, and it commands Sudan's armed forces amid the civil war against the Rapid Support Forces that began in 2023.
