The Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis, known today as the Ostrom Workshop, was founded at Indiana University Bloomington in 1973 by Vincent Ostrom and Elinor Ostrom as a research center for the study of self governance, polycentric institutions and the management of shared resources. It continues today, in the Ostroms' name, seeking solutions to problems involving communal and contested resources, from clean water to secure cyberspace.
