Charles Malik was a Lebanese diplomat who served as rapporteur of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights during the 1947 to 1948 drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, working alongside chairperson Eleanor Roosevelt, vice-chair Peng-chun Chang, and fellow member Rene Cassin.
