Samia Suluhu Hassan is the sixth and current President of Tanzania, having taken office on 19 March 2021 following the death of predecessor John Magufuli. She previously served as Vice-President from 2015 to 2021 and held ministerial posts in Zanzibar's regional government from 2000 to 2010, and is Tanzania's first female president and the second Zanzibari to hold the office.
