A doctrine about how an economy should be organized and by whom, a second axis alongside conventional political ideology per comparative political economy's "Varieties of Capitalism" framework (Peter Hall and David Soskice). Belongs here: Mercantilism, Capitalism, Laissez-faire Capitalism, State Capitalism, the Welfare State, Planned Economy and the Developmental State. Does not belong here: a general political ideology family that has views on economics but is not itself primarily an economic-system doctrine, such as Socialism, filed under Socialism and Communism instead because its lineage and content extend well beyond economic organization alone.
