International and Supranational Organizations

A body whose membership and authority span more than one sovereign state, per the international-relations institutionalist literature (Keohane and Nye) on intergovernmental and supranational organization. Belongs here: the United Nations and its General Assembly and Security Council, the European Union and its Commission and Council, NATO, the African Union, the Organisation of African Unity, the League of Nations, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, the International Labour Organization, the International Monetary Fund, and the Group of Seven and Group of Twenty forums. Does not belong here: a single country's own domestic institution, even one with international reach, such as a national central bank or a national legislature.
