Diplomats and International Law Framers

A person whose primary and lasting significance is diplomacy, the founding of international law or the building of international human rights instruments, rather than domestic office holding. Belongs here: the three principal drafters of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Rene Cassin, Peng-chun Chang and Charles Malik, Eleanor Roosevelt, who chaired the United Nations Commission on Human Rights that produced it, and Hugo Grotius, generally credited as the founder of international law. Does not belong here: a domestic political theorist whose work did not center on international law or diplomacy, filed under Political and Economic Theorists instead.
