Sanctions on Russia are the economic and diplomatic measures other states have imposed on the Russian government, its officials and its economy, principally in response to Russia's 2014 actions in Crimea and its full-scale invasion of Ukraine beginning 24 February 2022. Following the invasion, the United States, the European Union and other Western governments introduced or significantly expanded sanctions covering the Russian president, other government members and Russian citizens generally, targeting financial institutions, trade and individuals. This is modeled as its own policy-subject entity, narrower than general sanctions policy, per ruling 721: a government's or party's position on sanctions naming a specific target jurisdiction is a position on the jurisdiction-specific subject, not a free-text field on a generic sanctions position.

2024 manifesto cites the post-Brexit independent UK sanctions regime used against Russia as a record achievement, alongside a pledge to sustain Ukraine support "for as long as they are required."
Consistently opposes lifting EU/French sanctions on Russia over the war in Ukraine; has pressed for secondary sanctions alongside Germany.
German: "to diplomatic, military, financial and humanitarian support" for Ukraine. PRIF reads this commitment, made while the SPD held government, as implying continued support for EU sanctions on Russia rather than stating a sanctions position in so many words.
Neutral
India has not joined Western sanctions on Russia and continues purchasing Russian energy, a position its own Ministry of External Affairs frames as independent policy driven by energy security and market conditions rather than as support for or opposition to the sanctions themselves.
